Textiles
Last Fall two women opened a studio across from mine that specialized in Fabrics and Design. I broached the idea of working on a quilt together. Pernilla Frazier and Line Daems are both experienced Quilters. Together we began to explore the possibility of creating quilts from my drawings. Pernilla is presently working on two simultaneously. There is a third in the wings and five more on paper. Check this section periodically. The pieces will be added as they are completed.

Drawings
For an explanation of the methodology and function of my drawing please check out the “About Me” section of this website. The past three years I’ve spent some time on “Pen and Ink” drawings referencing various acts of terrorism, conflagrations, and war. These drawings and earlier ones have been added to this section. The Pastel Drawings have really just begun. I’m not sure how far I will go with these but for now I intend to keep exploring this medium and subject matter.

Stained Glass
The new triptych, “Kaddish” has been in the works for over two years. I think the topographical jaggedness of the broken glass in the piece emerged from joining a visit to the site of the Treblinka Extermination Camp site in Eastern Poland and the demise of the Jews of the village of Slawatycze where my mothers parents came from. Most were murdered at Treblinka during the Holocaust.

"Trees and Landscapes – Volume 1"
This past winter and spring I completed the printing and assembling of a new portfolio of photographs; "Trees and Landscapes- Volume 1". The photographs in this portfolio were taken between 1972 and 1992 in various locations, both here and abroad. It is the first of what I hope will be a series of photographic portfolios that I intend to bring out every year or two. You can view the prints in this portfolio by going to the “Portfolio” section of this website and clicking on the “Photo Silver Print-Toned” section and continuing down to the “Trees and Landscape (Boxed Set)” heading. This portfolio and most other work on the website is available for purchase while they last. Fifteen copies were made seven remain. All the prints are matted and boxed in an archival display box.

"Pinhole Photos"
Also, to be completed this summer is a series of Pinhole photographs being printed in two different sizes; 20 inches in length, and 36 inches in length. These are the first prints that I have done using scans and ink jet printing technology. Cone Editions are printing them, one of the premier digital printing companies in America. The photos were shot during a six-month period in 1969 and 1970. They were originally printed as contact prints on Kodak Azo paper. The inspiration for reprinting these photos came from viewing a recent exhibit of Bill Brandts’ work dealing with the female form in which much earlier work that was originally contact printed was then greatly enlarged and digitally printed. The exhibit moved me to revisit this earlier work of mine. This work can also be viewed by following the same instructions as above and going to the "Pinhole Photos" heading under the "Photo Silver Print-Toned" section.

"Poland and Auschwitz"
Lastly, new work has been added to all areas of the "Photo Silver Print-Toned" section. Much of this work is from the first of two trips that I made to Poland in 2004 and 2005. Rather than designate another subsection under "Photo Silver Print-Toned" I have continued categorizing the photos by a loose identification of subject matter rather than Country, Place, Year or Event. In time more categories will be added as I continue to build out the website and broaden the images in all the sections.
